Concrete Jungle Where Dreams are made of!!! part 2

As soon as the plane set off, I thought to myself, ''I'm coming to New Yorrrk!!!''. It has always been my dream city and finally I am only a few thousand of miles away.
The 14 hour flight to NY was uneventful, apart from the frequent loud and smelly farting I was receiving from the passenger sitting by me. And did I mention the guy could eat for Africa? He took 4 times of what everyone else had.
I really couldn't sleep even though I was exhausted, and it was caused part by my anticipation and part by the fact that I didn't know how to decline the seat. Lol I was too shy to ask.
I kept my eyes solely on the flight tracker and my heart began pumping faster as we reached New York. I didn't know what to expect, was I going to bump into a celebrity at the airport? Were New Yorkers rude and cocky as people said? Will the airport look like Heaven?
Finally the plane landed and we went to the arrival hall to check out. Omg I had never seen such a long queue in my life. There were literally a thousand people ahead of me and I just couldn't wait to get out of the airport.  I was a bit disappointed with the state of JFK airport. It looked very old and it definitely wasn't what I was expecting.
So finally I was able to check out(after standing for 2 hours!), and I retrieved my luggage.
My husband had been waiting for me, and after searching through the crowd I found him standing in some corner(Apparently he had gotten tired of waiting, lol) and we went outside to pick a taxi.
Boy was I shocked when we got out, the air was heavy and cold, I had never experienced such cold before, did I mention it was  very cold?. My husband had asked me to dress warm because it was winter, but I never could have anticipated the kind of cold that bit my skin. I was wearing jeans and a tan top, with a light material blazer.
Coming from the Accra heat, in my mind I had dressed warm enough. I was even wearing slippers. As soon as I felt the cold on my skin, I run back into the warmth of the airport. I told my husband I couldn't stand the cold, and I was even feeling a sharp pain in my feet. He gave me his Jacket, got a cab, and I had to run out from the airport into the cab.
