Lets get talking: Why do we visit blogs?

I cant tell when I started visiting blogs, but I know the first blog I heard of was Bella Naija. I was just captivated with everything about that site, especially the way the commenters interacted with each other. It was very easy to get addicted right after my first visit. Then I got to hear of LIB, and I went there because of how fast she updated news feeds. Now I visit a lot of blogs daily, its like I don't feel right without reading from blogs.

One thing is for sure, every blog has its own identity, and I find that the same people behaved differently depending on what blog they were on. I have seen the same commenters get very civil and polite on one blog, but become downright rude and insultive on another blog. Sometimes I wonder if it is the different people using the same ID.

For me I find that visiting blogs not only keeps me updated on current issues, there are incredible personalities typing some of the most humorous things I have ever read, and I find myself laughing a lot at some of the comments.

What was the first blog you visited and how did you hear about it? So why do you spend a lot of time moving from one blog to the other? Why do you have multiple personalities depending on the blog you visit and also for those who are silent readers why don't you ever comment?

  2. The first blog I ever visited was perez Hilton's blog and only because I thought it was Paris Hilton. Then I visit Nairaland(didn't get too hooked),but it was Linda Ikeji's blog that got me hooked. I just love the comments people post on d stories. From downright holarious to absolutely ridiculous! Its also a way of keeping abreast with some of the happenings around the world. The best part though is getting to read what people think about some issues or stories being posted and finding that they are other people who have the same opinion as me. Its kinda addictive, but I try to limit it to times when I m less busy or bored. I m loving ur blog too. Its nice and different.

  4. Why i visit blogs? They are the same reasons that you stated above. SDK is my best entertainment blog.

I display different attitude depending on the blogger. For instance, you speak from a honest way as it comes to you, not cunning, pretentious and evasive like some blogs! On such blogs, i bring out my fangs, or am downright politely cold!

  7. The first blog I visited was Linda Ikeji s blog and I got to hear about it through a friend. Since, then I've been hooked. sometimes, I find the comments more interesting than the blog posts. Other blogs I am addicted to are miss petite Nigeria and African Sweetheart - I just love their unique style of writing.

  8. I can remember searching for top 10 blog sites in nigeria...I bookmarked all of them and started visiting them daily. Buh, LIB got me hooked the most...Hilarious comments nd sort. Buh I find mysef not commenting @ all, cos she takes forever befor she publishes it, if @ all. So I just read. Probly, that influence followed me to other blogs, so I just read. Buh I do like to comment on issues. Guess ur blog made that possible. Luv Luv ur blog -Bosh-

  15. I love relationship blogs with interesting comments. I used to visit romancemeetslife often but it has become boring of late with few or no comments. Also liked WC but same thing is happening there now. Gossip blogs like Linda have more comments but they're so hateful I try to avoid them rubbing off on me. I like your blog and now hooked :)

    1. Eya writes the comments herself, the comments don't make any sense any longer.
Her blog is dead, multiple comments, and her dear alice stories.I hardly go her blog now

    2. It still baffles me how she can write comments herself. But i would believe because i don't see all the regulars, just anonymous, and the regulars know themselves or are they the ones that have gone anonymous? She was advised but refused to heed. I wonder if all her dear Alice stories are true? I noticed there is no white patch background as before when she copies and paste the stories on her blog. It is other people that brings articles to her blog to publish. I visit out of curiosity.

Romance meets life is barely hanging on by the thread. I don't know if it is now an entertainment or romance blog because she copies and paste what is virtually on other entertainment blogs. I don't really like her person, she is pretentious. I can read through her, so i don't visit her blog.
